Affordable housing was a highly visible priority in the most recent Colorado legislative session. The team at Gary Community Ventures will present on a statewide Colorado ballot proposal titled Dedicated State Income Tax Revenue for Affordable Housing Programs (2021-2022 #108). The ballot measure has been approved for circulation and is in the process of collecting signatures, due August 8, 2022. This could be a transformative, first-of-its-kind, comprehensive housing program designed to (a) permanently fund affordable housing across the state through innovative financing and (b) create incentives for local governments to achieve meaningful growth in affordable housing within their communities.
There will be time at the end of the session for conversation among Colorado funders working on affordable housing and timely updates on other philanthropic housing projects.
