Participatory Grantmaking: How Philanthropy is Shifting Decisions to the Communities it Serves

Philanthropy Colorado members will meet to discuss “participatory grantmaking” practices under way throughout the state and beyond. We’ll hear from four of our member organizations about how they have "democratized philanthropy" by shifting decision-making to traditionally excluded residents of the communities they exist to serve. We also want to learn from other members about what they are doing to involve communities in the ultimate decisions about where grant dollars flow.
