Philanthropy Colorado will host a highly interactive, all-day virtual training in partnership with ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities. (Please note that a half-day version of this training will be offered for foundation trustees/funder board members later this fall.)
Led by ABFE’s Anthony Simmons , Kellye McKenzie and Kyumon Murrell workshop participants will:
- Establish a shared language, learn and discuss basic concepts for talking about race productively and advancing racial equity.
- Recognize the value of a structural analysis around inequities, including the drivers of poor and disparate outcomes in Black communities and other communities of color;
- Have a greater understanding of Responsive Philanthropy in Black Communities (RPBC) framework and three specific tools to advance grantmaking;
- Get answers to immediate questions and take part in an interactive learning experience.
The training is being offered this year based on widespread member interest in additional equity training. We recognize this is a considerable commitment and ask participants to commit to attend the entire time. Breaks will be built into the session.
Early-bird registration is available through August, register here.
