Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation is at the forefront of a partnership between medical practices and dental hygienists. Its latest project aims to place dental hygienists in 26 medical practices across the state. People will most likely visit a medical practice and skip a trip to the dentist if given an option between the two. Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation crafted an innovative approach to this problem: placing dental hygienists in 26 medical practices across the state. The majority of the patients are below the age of 18, and the program is now centering its efforts on early prevention of future decay and other oral health problems.
