Join us for a free and nonpartisan forum to learn about the upcoming 2020 Census and the importance of promoting a fair and accurate count. A complete census count is critical to Colorado getting its fair share of federal funding to support a variety of imperative community needs, and an undercount would result in severe funding gaps for our state.
During this two-part program, attendees will learn:
- What is the census and why is it important?
- Potential remifications of an undercount in Colorado, the federal funds at stake, and how this will impact all sectors including nonprofit, philanthropic, business and government
- 2020 Census timeline, including new changes to census methods
- Ways you and your organizations can play a role in the 2020 Census
The morning session, which includes a keynote by nationally-recognized census expert Arturo Vargas followed by a panel local of leaders reflecting on the implications for Colorado, will be livestreamed for those outside the Denver-metro area. The afternoon training about forming Complete Count Committees is limited to in-person participation
