Policy Collaboration for Child Care and Learning: Early Childhood Learning Network

Friday, November 22, 2024, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Join funder colleagues focused on early childhood education to learn about new developments and share approaches and opportunities for collaboration. Co-chairs: Laura Carlson (Buell Foundation) and Mara Holiday (Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation).

Over several decades, Colorado has made great strides in providing every child with the early care and learning opportunities needed for a successful start. From full-day Kindergarten and Universal Pre-K, to the creation of the Colorado Department of Early Childhood Education and progress in supporting the child care workforce, we’ve demonstrated what we can do when we come together with a shared vision, commitment, persistence and collective power.

Still, affordable child care remains a significant pain point, leading a funder group to explore what it might take to unlock public dollars to make child care significantly more affordable for families. The work has involved exploring policy options and revenue sources, polling, and extensive learning from successful child care campaigns in other states. It has evolved into a proposed multi-year initiative to pass a child care funding measure in 2026. Please join us for this informational session and discussion.
