In philanthropy, there's a growing recognition of the importance of learning from failure, yet rarely do we showcase failure as an opportunity for growth. Everyone has failed at something: jumping too quickly into an investment or sticking with a failing project for too long. CAF members will hear examples of initiatives, projects, strategies, etc., that fell short of the intended results. When we share stories like these, we embrace humility as grantmakers, honestly learn from our failures and affirm the need to take risks. This program’s goal is to generate discussion about what learning is possible from past failures. Raise your glass to and hear from CAF members who will share candid stories and how they are using such lessons to inform their work. There will be open mic time for others inspired to share.
