The Impact Investing Forum provides a space for Philanthropy Colorado members with an active interest in sharing and learning about impact investing trends and emerging models. The group meets periodically to exchange information and to hear from guest speakers on various topics such as social impact bonds and issue areas that can be addressed through alternative forms of investment.
This month's meeting will include brief updates from three guests:
- We’ll hear from Kent Thiry on where things stand with the Energize Colorado Gap Fund he’s chairing and how it’s reaching the priority populations for the loans. Community First Foundation will also share about its different but complementary Metro Denver fund.
- Jackie Khor with Social Finance will brief us on the Colorado Health Workforce for the Future Fund (Impact Bonds Tied to Upskilling Low-income Adults into Healthcare Jobs)
- And, finally, Jim Garcia, Founder and CEO of Clinica Tepeyac will talk briefly about an investment opportunity in its new clinic at 49th and Race. The lead lender is a national CDFI called Capital Impact Partners and Colorado Foundation has made more than $4 million in grant and guarantee commitments.
All are welcome to join. To RSVP, contact Philanthropy Colorado CEO, Joanne Kelley.
