Join Philanthropy Colorado and colleagues for a member briefing on a new statewide collaborative to prevent firearm harm utilizing a public health approach. Preventable injuries and deaths from firearms impact Coloradans every day. Firearms are the third leading cause of death from injury among adults and the leading cause of death for young people in our state.
The Colorado Safe Future Fund’s objective is to invest in and advocate for efforts that reduce and prevent firearm-related injury and death in rural, urban, and suburban communities across Colorado. To date, eleven foundations have joined together in creating this fund, which aims to provide communities with actionable data, resources and capacity support to create meaningful change.
You will hear from Colorado foundations who are championing this approach and how you can get involved. Also, one of the state’s foremost experts on firearm injury and death prevention will share details on how this work will lead to impactful solutions for Coloradoans.
